He said he was lost

And I though

He needed help

To get back home
And I fell for the charms

Of his youth

The beauty and lightness

Of his skin
And for a while

I truly believed him

When he said

The sun would never set.
And every day would

Be filled with

Fun and games

And sweet kisses
But then

I don’t know when

I simply grew

As grownups do.
And he was not lost

Just a lost cause

And it was time for me

To let him be.
